Dose Galera

After our successful Batanes trip, we still had two weeks to enjoy our vacation in the Philippines. I bought travel maps of Bohol, Mindoro and Northern Luzon. But it was hard to choose from those three options. Thinking that we have to ride an airplane again for the third time in a month if we choose Bohol would be tiring and not really healthy. The Northern Luzon trip required more time on the road. So in the end we chose a weekend trip to Puerto Galera together with my family (except for my father).

Batangas Pier is one of the busiest pier that I have seen. I'm used to a busy public place, but it's still hard if you have a foreign family member with you. The fixers, the unpleasant facilities, and the bugging of the vendors are among the things that are quite disappointing every time you travel. I am relieved when we were already inside the pier waiting for the boat.

Cafe Derat

It has been a long time since I visited this cafe. Without my father-in-law I would not have known this fantastic old school cafe. This is one of his favorites. Are you also amazed by its name? Why it is called Cafe "de Rat"?

The Ministeck and the Pixelhobby

Ministeck is a puzzle which everyone can enjoy. It is a toy for both young and old. This toy was invented 1965 in Germany by Hetmut Gottwald and it is still popular all over the world. Nowadays you can download a program to make your own pattern, like for example your own picture.

Ministeck is like doing a cross-stitch. The differences are that you use a plastic plate and not a cloth, not threads but plastic mosaic pieces, you don't need a needle but only your hands. But they both use a pattern.

There is also a mini-variety of Ministeck and it is called Pixelhobby. They use both plastic mosaic pieces, but the only difference is the shape. Ministeck has different shapes, while Pixelhobby has only one shape. With Pixelhobby you use mini squared-plastic mosaic pieces.

You can buy the plate in different sizes...

...also the same with the Pixelhobby.

If I have to choose between the two.  I like to do more the the Pixelhobby. Because its mosaic pieces are finer than the Ministeck. See what I have made!

Nice gift idea!

They are both fun to do in leisure hours especially this cold season! I am looking forward to make a bigger one next time!

Beware of Broken Controllers

Visiting the World City Berlin, Berlin Oh Berlin, Trip to Berlin these are titles from my entry about our experience in Berlin. The first time that I was about to publish it, I have accidentally deleted it and I did not have back-up files. Sorry for me. I rewrote it and after a few days I have luckily published it. Lesson learned. But I have to delete it last week, when I discovered that a heartless site: "Broken Controllers" has stole my content.

Broken Controllers is trying to hijack your blog traffic to boost their popularity in Google. I read also that there are many bloggers who have the same problem like me. For sure you better check your blog name via Google search and find out if someone steals your content.

If you are going to search for my link, please see thoroughly if the link is avonturologie.blogspot.com and not any other avonturologie as a blog name associated with a company or any other site.

P.S.
I will write again soon (for the 3rd time) our Berlin experience.

Ladies' Day Out

Two years ago a very good Pinay friend of mine had invited me to join her and her man to the Fashion Days event at the World Fashion Centre in Amsterdam. I was very curious what for event it was, so I said "Yes!".

The World Fashion Centre is one the largest mode business centre in the world and usually not open to the public. It has more than enough showrooms and many assortment of branded names / labels. Thanks to the Stichting Ondernemersbelangen Koningin Wilhelminaplein, the organizer of the Fashion Days, they made the WFC twice a year open to the masses.
